When enjoying your swimming pool or spa with lush landscaped backyard, upkeep becomes a challenge because of the foliage that drops into the water. Seasonal changes represent different challenges to maintenance. In the Fall and Winter, the trees deposit many leaves which overwhelm the circulation systems we rely on. Therefore it is advised to trim all shrubbery and large trees back every other year at a minimum - you'll notice a dramatic difference on the quality of the water and the appearance. The winds can get quite heavy in West Hills. Pool service therefore requires a committment from clients to remove debris out of the skimmer baskets and pump pot lint strainer in between regular cleaning calls during these few difficult months. We manage many water features during these inclement times, and sometimes it takes two service calls before the water clarity is restored. Everyone who has lived through our annual season here is willing to endure the weather because when Spring comes in March, we welcome the crystal clean pools that come with them. The downside harsh climate is the heavy load of labor to remove so much foliage, but the upside is that the chemical expense is significantly lower as the water is so cold and generally there is no swimming.
