| Van Nuys Pool Maintenance Tips
The abundance of sunshine in Los Angeles help keep our swimming pools warm enough to swim for the majority of the summer season. But sometimes the evenings get cool and the water loses its temperature. Natural gas heaters are generally used to take the chill off the water, but there is a less expensive way to do this - by installing a light weight portable solar blanket that insulates againt heat loss. They simply float on top of the water and, with a solar reel, are rolled off the water for storage. While on our service routes, we've seen many of these setups in Van Nuys. Pool maintenance is accomplished each week by Spectrum, and many of our clients utilize these blankets so we have experience with them. We do request our clients to remove it prior to the service day as this allow debris to go into the skimmer for filtration, rather than staying in suspension at the moment we attempt to pull off the blanket. It makes for a cleaner pool and also allows the water to "breathe" a bit, as it can actually get too warm - becoming an incubator for algae spores you'd rather not have.
