Weekly pool service requires water chemistry analysis and adjustments as well as removing debris from the pool, skimmer and pump pot baskets, and periodic filtration backwashing. But when the pressure gets too high and the water slows down, the filter itself does need to be disassembled and the grids washed down. Once it is reassembled and pressurized, leaks can develop around the tank-band oring. Other leaks can also appear at the backwash valve as well. The reason for this is the great amount of pressure that the filter is under while in operation. Orings need to be re-lubed with a silicone or teflon based lubricant depending on if the there are moving parts or not. You can purchase the proper lubricant at any pool store, or inquire with our servcie department.
