| Los Angeles Pool Light Repair Tips
Electrical supply for pool light fixtures pass through a junction box receptacle located at the prescribed distance and height in relation to the pool structure in accordance with local building and safety codes. A minimum of 4ft distance from the pool and 8" above maximum water level, and at least 4" above the deck comply with minimum parameters. These supersede older regulations that allowed for a deck box just above the light fixture. Unfortunately, this older system allowed water to penetrate the seal and create an electrical ground that presented a safety hazard for swimmers. In Los Angeles, pool light repair codes require complete upgrades to replace these now antiquated deck boxes. Spectrum Pool Care technicians regularly replace bulbs and gaskets, and sometimes encounter deck boxes. If so, we propose a complete upgrade that includes a new brass conduit and junction box. This is just one consideration when addressing lighting issues. For a complete evaluation of your lighting system, give our office a call and set up an on-site visit. Whether simple or complex, we will propose a prudent solution to get your water illuminated once again.
