| La Crescenta Pool Motor Repair Tips
A properly sized pump makes all the difference when it comes to optimal performance and economical expense. In the past, people were not too concerned about oversizing as electrical costs were manageable. This resulted in many 2hp motors in service that can now be downsized as long as it is compatible with the system requirements. Energy conserving legislation has now made it mandatory to install only a motor that is less than 1hp total horse power. The intent is to conserve - and this has caused changes in how we apply flow in pools. The plumbing is now stepped up on new construction to 2.5" diameter to accomodate slower flow. Pumps are now downsized to operate at 1/8th the speed for many hours a day. The end result is a cleaner pool with lower operating costs. Here at Spectrum, we consult every day with clients in Studio City, Pacific Palisades, and La Crescenta. Pool motor repair issues are sometimes a catalyst to upgrading to a more energy-efficient system, or sometimes a simple capacitor replacement. We consider all aspects of the circulation system with the goal of achieving a sparkling and inviting pool.
